Alachua County Health Department

The Alachua County Health Department, located on the east side of town in a wooded area off SE 24th Street, offers Title X coverage for vasectomy services for men who qualify based upon income and family size.

To find out whether the Health Department presently has funds for their vasectomy program (sometimes funds run out before the end of their July 1 - June 30 fiscal year), please call (352) 334-7900 and ask for a "Triage Appointment" to complete your paperwork so that Title 10 will cover your vasectomy.

Dr. Doug Stein is a vasectomy provider for the Alachua County Health Department, and performs vasectomies on a regular basis at Planned Parenthood of North Florida in Gainesville, at the Wisdo Family Medicine in Ocala, and at Comprehensive Pain Management in Lake City. The fee is $490 if you do not qualify for Title 10 assistance or if there are no more Title 10 funds for the current fiscal year (July 1 - June 30).
