Pasco County Health DepartmentThe Pasco County Health Department has an excellent vasectomy program with financial assistance under Title 10. Vasectomy counseling and screening for financial assistance can be done at any one of Pasco County's 5 clinics (New Port Richey, Hudson, Dade City, Zephyrhills, and Land O' Lakes). Vasectomies are performed by Dr. Doug Stein in the New Port Richey clinic on certain Fridays, every 8 weeks (for specific dates, see Dr. Stein's Schedule Page), and at Dr. Stein's office in Tampa on a more flexible schedule. Vasectomy information and counseling are available at these three locations, but vasectomies are performed only in New Port Richey and in Dr. Stein's office in Tampa. Men who do not meet the income criteria for Title X (Ten) financial assistance, may still have a low-cost vasectomy at the Pasco County Health Department for a fee. They must follow the rule for a 30-day wait between counseling and vasectomy, a rule which applies to all facilities where Title X funds are used.
