Three FREE vasectomies in Tampa/Lutz on Nov 13 ... in preparation for World Vasectomy Day on November 20.
Have your vasectomy during a LIVE but VIRTUAL Press Conference.

by Doug Stein, MD
Jonathan Stack and I are Co-Founders of World Vasectomy Day (WVD), an annual Celebration of Men willing to partake in family planning for the benefit of themselves, their families, their societies, and our planet. For 7 years  (2013 Adelaide Australia; 2014 Kissimmee Florida; 2015 Nusa Dua Indonesia; 2016 Nairobi Kenya; 2017 Mexico City; 2018 Kigali Rwanda; and 2019 Bogota Colombia), responsible men have volunteered to undergo vasectomy on WVD in a public forum to demonstrate the ease of the procedure and to showcase their willingness to encourage other men to do the same. Please see this year's video HERE and videos from prior WVDs HERE.and HERE. This will be the first-ever VIRTUAL World Vasectomy Day. That is, our production team will have no Headquarters Location where they gather to cheer and support hundreds of doctors and thousands of men. Rather, they will be united by the internet and Zoom as they cheer and support.

Events leading up to Nov 20 will take place from Nov 14-19, including (1) a Virtual Zoom Summit open to over 500 vasectomy providers in 26 countries on Nov 14, (2) an educational Symposium for new vasectomists and allied reproductive health workers on Nov 18, and (3) a vasectomy "marathon" by our team in Haiti Nov 18-20 . On Nov 13, the World Vasectomy Day Team (directed by Jonathan) will conduct a 50-minute Press Conference about World Vasectomy Day. To demonstrate the ease of vasectomy, I will perform a live vasectomy on Zoom for one or more of three men who agree to this offer. Those men will be interviewed live before, during, and after their vasectomies. The time will be late morning. Some interviews from prior World Vasectomy Days are HERE.
 On Nov 13, three volunteers will be offered vasectomies at no charge, except for what insurance might pay if they have insurance. Their vasectomies will NOT be private. Like the Australian men who had their vasectomies on WVD2013 in Adelaide and the Floridian men who had their vasectomies on WVD2014 in Kissimmee ...

... they will be interviewed via Zoom during their vasectomies.  The sessions will be recorded and the recording used by the media and in future WVD promotional events. Modesty will be preserved with nothing exposed except possibly for some scrotal skin after a procedure drape has been applied. Because this is a deviation from privacy guidelines, volunteers have to sign a Release Form.

Interested men pay our usual procedure deposit of $100 when they agree to participate. This will be refunded after their vasectomies, but not for a change of mind or late arrival. Having someone not show up or change his mind at the last minute would completely spoil this opportunity to showcase WVD in a forum of progressive ideas.

These are the instructions:
  1. In the interest of full informed consent, please review the Vasectomy Page and watch the Counseling Video.
  2. Understand that your vasectomy will not be private if you choose to have it on Nov 13. Like the Australian men who had their vasectomies on WVD2013,  the Floridian men who had their vasectomies on WVD2014, and many others since then, you will be interviewed on Zoom camera before, during, and after your vasectomy. It will be recorded and you may be featured in a documentary film about WVD2020. Your modesty will be preserved with nothing private exposed except possibly for some scrotal skin.
  3. If you would still like to proceed, please print the Release Form, one copy for each family member that will accompany you to my office on Nov 13. if you would like them to be included in your interviews. Fill out and sign each form. Then you have 3 options:
    a. You may mail the signed Forms to Douglas Stein, MD; 288 Crystal Grove Boulevard, Lutz, FL 33548; or
    b. You may scan the completed form(s) and e-mail them to vnelson@vasweb.com;
    or
    c. You  may fax the completed Form(s) to 813-536-1432.
  4. Register Online if you have not already done so. When prompted, indicate Nov 13 as your Vasectomy Date and Stein/Curington LUTZ Main Office as your Vasectomy Location. We ask for the deposit of $100, but this will be returned in the form of a personal check after your vasectomy. You will be asked to pay nothing out of pocket, but if you have insurance please complete the insurance info during the online registration. Insurance company payments (if any), it will be donated to World Vasectomy Day.
Thank you not only for choosing me to perform your vasectomy but also for considering this opportunity to serve as a role model for men worldwide.
