Vasectomy in Broward County (Ft. Lauderdale), Florida:
The Broward County Health Department offers Title 10 coverage for vasectomy services for men who qualify based upon income and family size. Family Planning services (and vasectomy counseling) were once offered at the 2 health centers listed below, but are now offered only at the Edgar Mills Health Center. These are federal funds, so you need not live in Broward County to be eligible for assistance.

To schedule a same day appointment or for more information, clients should call (954) 467-4705 Monday - Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
You will be given an appointment for vasectomy counseling, financial screening, labwork, and a brief physical exam. If there is an issue in the lab work, you may have to return, but if everything is ok and if you qualify for assistance, a letter would be sent to you advising you to make the appointment with Dr. Stein (813-536-1430). The Broward CHD paperwork will be sent to Dr. Stein's office after the 30 day waiting period. His staff will call you when they receive the paperwork. You may have your vasectomy performed by Dr. Doug Stein and Dr. Alex Galante according to their schedule (click for dates and locations) at their main office in Lutz. It's a long drive, but only one visit is required If there are no more Title 10 funds for the current fiscal year (July 1 - June 30), or if you do not qualify, the fee at their office is $690.
