The St. Lucie County Health Department (SLCHD) offers Title 10 coverage (financial assistance) for men who qualify based upon income and family size.

1. Please call 772-462-3800. Select "1" for English, then select "1" to select Make an Appointment, then select "1" again to specify a Clinical Appointment. You will be asked for your Date of Birth, Name, and Social Security Number. This is so that the Health Department can check their records to see whether you are already in their system. After a short hold, the scheduler will return and offer you an appointment, either morning or afternoon, in either Ft. Pierce or Port St. Lucie, your choice. Because of Health Department staff changes, some may be unaware of the Title 10 vasectomy program. If you have any difficulty, please call the office of Drs. Doug Stein and John Curington, vasectomy services providers for the SLCHD, at 813-536-1430.
2. At your appointment, you will receive vasectomy counseling and financial screening to receive financial assistance under the Title 10 program. If eligible for assistance and if you would like to proceed with a vasectomy, you will sign a consent at that time.
3. You will be referred to Drs. Doug Stein and John Curington who will perform your vasectomy at the office of Medical Consultants of Florida in Port St. Lucie at least 30 days after the date on which you signed your consent. Drs. Stein and Curington perform vasectomies in Port St. Lucie every 8 weeks or so (see their schedule). Appointments are made by calling their office at 813-536-1430.
