The St. Lucie
County Health Department (SLCHD) may offer
Title
10 coverage
(financial assistance) for men who qualify based upon
income and family size.
Dr. Doug Stein
provided vasectomies
for many years for St. Lucie's Title X program, but he no longer provides
vasectomies closer than his
home office in Lutz, so the County did not renew for the 2023-2024
fiscal year. They may have found another provider. |
1. Please call 772-462-3800.
Select "1" for English, then select "1"
to select Make an Appointment, then select "1"
again to specify a Clinical Appointment. You will be asked
for your Date of Birth, Name, and Social Security Number.
This is so that the Health Department can check their records
to see whether you are already in their system. After a
short hold, the scheduler will return and offer you an appointment,
either morning or afternoon, in either Ft. Pierce or Port
St. Lucie, your choice. Because of Health Department staff
changes, some may be unaware of the Title 10 vasectomy program.
If you have any difficulty, please call the office of Drs.
Doug Stein and Alex Galante, vasectomy services providers for the SLCHD, at
813-536-1430. 2. At your appointment, you will receive
vasectomy counseling and financial screening to receive
financial assistance under the Title 10 program. If eligible
for assistance and if you would like to proceed with a vasectomy,
you will sign a consent at that time. 3. You will be
referred to the vasectomy doctor who currently performs
vasectomies for the County under Title X. If there is no
vasectomy doctor contracted the Health Department, and
if you cannot find a nearby doctor with affordable fees,
Drs. Doug Stein
and Alex Galante would be happy to perform your vasectomy at their
main office in Lutz. Only one visit is required..
