Vasectomy in Bradenton, Florida:

The Manatee County Health Department may have Title X funding available for vasectomy.  Their funds are awarded based on a sliding scale.  You must be over 21 years old and wait 30 days after a consultation before you can have your procedure.  Counseling and financial screening are done in the main health department clinic at 401 6th Avenue East, Bradenton, Florida 34208.  Vasectomy services are then provided by Drs. Doug Stein and Alex Galante at their office in Tampa/Lutz.

To check the status of the Manatee vasectomy program or to make an appointment for counseling, call
(941) 748-0747 Ext. 1268 (Ms. Reddick)
(If the staff is not helpful, or if you leave a message and do not receive a return call within 24 hours, please call 813-536-1430 for assistance.)

The main entrance is actually on the south side of the building, not on the side that faces 6th Avenue, which is a busy one-way street with traffic flowing west to east.

Drive past the Health Department building and turn right on 5th Street East (where that white pickup is coming out) to get to the main entrance.

If Title X funds are not available in Manatee County (they sometimes run out toward the end of the July 1 - June 30 fiscal year), Manatee residents (or any Florida residents for that matter) may want to consider applying for assistance through the health department of a nearby county such as Hillsborough, Sarasota or Hardee.
If you do not qualify for assistance, or if the use of the Health Department seems too cumbersome logistically, you may have your vasectomy at the Tampa/Lutz office of Drs. Stein and Galante for a fee of $590 .
