Drs. Doug Stein and Jose Viladoms Introduce No-needle Vasectomy in Europe

In April 2005, Dr. Jose Viladoms, a noted urologist and No-Scalpel Vasectomy (NSV) Surgeon in Barcelona, Spain, invited Dr. Stein to demonstrate to No-Needle aspect of NSV at the Teknon Clinic. Eight patients were delighted to undergo the first No-Needle Vasectomies ever performed in Europe on Monday April 11.

On arrival, Dr. Viladoms, his wife Marta and son Jan treated Dr. Stein to the delights of living in Barcelona: sun, scenery, and some of the best food in the world.

The beautiful architecture and setting of the Teknon Clinic were an ideal setting from which to launch No-Needle Vasectomy in Europe.

After a busy day at the clinic, Dr. Viladoms hosted Dr. Stein to a Grand Motorcycle Tour of Barcelona, a walking tour of Barcelona's Old City, and, of course, more tapas.

Later that week, Dr. Viladoms presented this new alternative to traditional needle-injection local anesthesia at the Annual Meeting of the Spanish Andrology Society in La Coruña, Galicia, in the beautiful northwest corner of Spain. On May 6-7, after providing the no-needle vasectomy to more happy patients, he presented his experience at the Catalan Urological Society Meeting in L'Alguer, Sardinia, (photos below) a small part of Italy in which people still speak Catalan.
